About the team
The EMEA Large Midmarket Renewals & Growth team is a strategic sales organization responsible for maximizing the lifetime value of Stripe's existing midmarket relationships across EMEA. This team drives revenue expansion through renewals, cross-selling, and upselling initiatives with established customers.
What you'll do
As Senior Sales Manager for EMEA SMB & Midmarket Renewals & Growth at Stripe, you'll lead a significant organization of 30+ professionals, including 4 direct-report managers, focused exclusively on expanding existing relationships footprint. You'll be responsible for orchestrating high-value renewals & expansions, developing systematic approaches to account growth & cross-sell, and establishing Stripe as the strategic financial infrastructure partner for our most valuable small and midmarket customers across EMEA.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead a high-performing organization of 30+ professionals through 4 regional managers, establishing consistent processes for account growth and renewal excellence
- Own the EMEA renewal and expansion revenue targets, including personal involvement in strategic large renewal opportunities
- Develop and execute the long-term growth strategy for existing small midmarket accounts across EMEA, focusing on increased wallet share and product adoption
- Implement sophisticated account planning methodologies to systematically identify expansion opportunities within the existing customer base
- Foster executive-level relationships with key customers, serving as Stripe's senior representative in renewal and expansion discussions
- Create specialized playbooks for cross-selling and upselling Stripe's expanding product portfolio
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Customer Success, and Finance to develop compelling value propositions for renewals and expansion opportunities
- Design and implement retention strategies to minimize churn and maximize net dollar retention across the EMEA portfolio
- Establish metrics and accountability frameworks to drive consistent performance across all renewal and growth teams
- Represent Stripe at industry events to reinforce customer relationships and industry presence
Minimum requirements
- 12+ years of midmarket and commercial sales experience with at least 5 years in customer growth, renewals, or account management leadership
- Proven track record managing a large sales organization (30+ people) across multiple managers and geographies
- Demonstrated success managing and growing multi-million dollar midmarket customer portfolios with consistent net dollar retention above industry benchmarks
- Experience driving expansion strategy for midmarket accounts with complex stakeholder landscapes
- Strong executive presence and ability to engage effectively with senior leadership during high-stakes renewal negotiations
- Deep understanding of midmarket software or financial technology contract structures, pricing models, and negotiation strategies
- Track record of building and scaling high-performing account management teams across multiple European markets
- Experience implementing systematic account growth methodologies in midmarket environments
- Strategic mindset with ability to identify long-term account expansion opportunities beyond immediate renewal cycles
- Excellent cross-functional leadership skills to orchestrate complex renewal and expansion efforts
In-office expectations
Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80% in-office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss.
