SEMH Teaching Assistant – SEMH School – Harlow | September Start

Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning and development?

We are working with a supportive SEMH school in Harlow that is looking to appoint a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

The school provides a structured, nurturing environment for pupils who may experience social, emotional and mental health needs, behavioural challenges and barriers to learning. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils regulate their emotions, engage with learning and develop confidence and independence.

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural or additional needs
Be patient, empathetic and confident building positive relationships
Have a calm, consistent and resilient approach to challenging behaviour
Be able to establish clear boundaries while remaining supportive and understanding
Be passionate about helping young people develop confidence, resilience and independence
Be reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a wider team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
