Area Manager Inspection Operations

The Area Manager is responsible for meeting revenue performance goals by leading, planning, directing, and monitoring the HSE, Operational Productivity, Personnel, Financial Performance and Quality Objectives of his area of responsibility.

Scope

The Area Manager plans, directs, and controls activities of the area operations to accomplish budgeted financial, HSE, quality and customer service objectives.  It is understood the Area Manager may perform duties of other job descriptions as needed. 

Responsibilities

1. Must be certified in the inspection disciplines being overseen by this position.
   1. Examples: BIT, SRI, MPI, MFLT, etc.
2. Directs and coordinates all major functions of the Area Operations to promote growth and development consistent with company goals.
3. Responsible for overall operations of the assigned area including but not limited to compliance with our financial obligations, operational performance, safety programs, environmental policies, quality systems, and customer service.
4. Confers with the Region Vice President on profit center expansion, improvements, and equipment planning.
5. Maintains close communications with sales staff, customers and suppliers.
6. Ensures organization and manpower is adequate to attain division objectives.
7. Reviews and approves division programs for consistency with company policy and goals.
8. Maintain a high level of quality and safety leadership and awareness.
9. Input data into the NOV Tuboscope Gold, JDE or other required ERP system(s).
10. Reports to Region Vice President or designated company representative.

Competencies

1. Four years college or equivalent work experience.
2. Knowledge of the NOV Tuboscope Quality System, including the Quality Manual, QSP’s, SOP’s, LOP’s and related documents.
3. Knowledge of NOV-Tuboscope HSE Requirements for employees and the facility.
4. Knowledge of NOV Tuboscope inspection services related to division capabilities.
5.  
6. Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Tuboscope Gold and JDE System.
7. Knowledge of the Tuboscope Safety Based Behavior Program.
8. Understands reporting including the annual budgeting process, monthly financial close, and forecasting.
