The Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist for foster care contracts plays a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate billing, maximizing revenue, and minimizing accounts receivable balances related to foster care contract services. This position requires attention to detail, knowledge of county billing regulations, and proficiency in billing software and systems.

Together for Youth (Canaan, NY) and The House of the Good Shepherd (Utica, NY). This position will be a part of SCNY and is based in Canaan, NY. The Account Receivable Specialist will follow Together for Youth's (TFY) guidelines regarding benefits, compensation and all policies and procedures as outlined in the TFY employee handbook.
Description
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate billing claims to counties provided to eligible beneficiaries, ensuring compliance with county billing guidelines and regulations.
- Monitor the status of contract claims, follow up on outstanding claims, and resolve billing discrepancies or denials in a timely manner to minimize accounts receivable balances.
- Manage the revenue cycle from claim submission to payment reconciliation, including posting payments, identifying, and resolving claim issues.
- Coordinate with internal departments and county contacts to address billing inquiries, resolve payment issues, and ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
- Process payments to foster parents.
- Protect agency values by keeping information confidential.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of associate degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance or related field required
- 1-3 years of relevant experience required.
- Experience working in non-profit, human services industry preferred.
- Must have a Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving history to the Agency.
- Ability to work with economically and culturally diverse population.
