The Global Army and Navy Requirements and Capabilities (R&C) team leads all new business and strategy activities for Electro-Optical Infrared (EO/IR) Solutions, a sub-business unit under Advanced Products and Solutions (APS) strategic business unit of Raytheon. The team supports a portfolio valued at $900M+. The team is seeking an Associate Director of Requirements and Capabilities (R&C) with experience in multi-spectral targeting who will lead the Global Navy business.
What You Will Do
- Be accountable for fiscal year booking targets and strategies to achieve five-year growth and new business pursuits ($200M+ in annual bookings) for the Navy portfolio.
- Pipeline Development - Investigate and develop opportunities within both existing and new customer bases. The Associate Director will primarily represent EO/IR Solutions shaping future Navy and other DoD customer requirements, customer events, and equipment demonstrations to increase probability of win.
- Customer/Competitor Intelligence - Develop strategy to shape emerging programs for long term production wins. Foster relationships with key Navy customers and influence requirements and clearly articulate EO/IR Solutions capabilities.
- Marketing and Opportunity Shaping - Conduct market analysis and manages execution of the strategy, in conjunction with the Product Line leader and Global Army and Navy R&C Director.
- New Business Investment Budgets / Internal Research and Development - Influence future IRAD investments based on strategy for winning emerging programs and manage Navy NBI budget.
- Provide business development functional support to overall Global Army and Navy R&C team as needed.
- Expected travel 30% (Domestic)
- This position is currently designated as fully remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories.)
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, or related field and 12 years minimum experience in military and/or defense industry or an Advanced Degree and a minimum 10 years of experience
- Experience with the DoD material acquisition process
- Experience developing and executing capture strategies with demonstrated wins
- Experience leading multiple customer relationships
- Experience navigating DoD budget
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
- Prior business development experience at a large defense contractor
- Experience working with or in the Navy and Intelligence communities
- Experience in either manned and unmanned Intelligence Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) airborne platforms
- Familiarity with European and/or Indo-Pacific governments
