IREN is seeking a Director, Supplier Performance & Quality to build and lead the function responsible for the performance, quality, and accountability of the supplier and contractor ecosystem supporting our US data center build programs. This role owns the end-to-end supplier scorecard, quality assurance, and non-conformance/corrective action framework across general contractors, EPC firms, OEMs, and critical-path equipment suppliers – including LLE equipment, HV transformers, switchgear, liquid cooling systems, and modular/skid-based infrastructure. The Director partners closely with Procurement, Construction, Engineering, and Commissioning leadership to ensure suppliers deliver to cost, schedule, and quality commitments across active and pipeline projects, including sites such as Childress and Sweetwater.Requirements & Qualifications:
Required Qualifications- 12+ years in supplier quality, supplier performance management, construction quality assurance, or related supply chain leadership roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
- Direct experience with hyperscale, colocation, or large-scale mission-critical data center construction programs.
- Deep familiarity with GC/EPC delivery models and contracting structures (GMP, lump sum, CMAR, Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build).
- Working knowledge of critical data center equipment categories – HV transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS, liquid cooling, and modular/skid-based systems.
- Demonstrated experience building and operationalizing supplier scorecards, NCR/CAPA systems, and quality audit programs.
- Strong executive presence and negotiation skills, with experience engaging C-suite stakeholders at major GC/EPC and OEM partners.
- Willingness to travel to active construction sites across the US (30–50%).
- Experience at a hyperscaler, colocation provider, or AI infrastructure company (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Google, Meta, Oracle, or similar).
- Background spanning both buy-side (owner/operator) and OEM-side supply chain roles.
- Familiarity with NVIDIA DSX reference architecture compliance and liquid cooling vendor landscape.
- Six Sigma, Lean, or CQE/ASQ quality certification.
- Experience standing up a supplier quality function from the ground up within a lean or scaling organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain, or a related field required; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Performance Management- Design, implement, and own a supplier performance management program (scorecards, KPIs, SLAs) spanning GC/EPC, OEM, modular/skid, and specialty trade suppliers on US data center builds.
- Establish quarterly and project-milestone quality and performance reviews with top-tier suppliers and contractors, driving accountability for cost, schedule, safety, and quality outcomes.
- Lead root-cause and corrective action processes for underperforming suppliers, including escalation pathways, performance improvement plans, and exit/replacement decisions.
- Build a supplier segmentation and risk model that flags capacity, financial, and single-source exposure across the critical equipment and construction supply base.
- Partner with Sourcing and Category Management to feed performance data into supplier selection, contract renewals, and award decisions.
- Own the supplier and construction quality assurance program, including inspection protocols, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and commissioning (Cx) quality gates.
- Establish and maintain a non-conformance reporting (NCR) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) system across GC/EPC and OEM scopes.
