Strategic Account & Operations Managers are responsible for leading and managing a team within The Experience Studio department which focuses on complex, high-end event planning.
What You'll Do
- Responsible for delivering operational excellence for clients and their events.
- Responsible for client retention and expansion including relationship building, implementation, growth opportunities, custom reporting, annual business reviews, etc.
- Coach and develop event planners, providing feedback and direction, ensuring they are meeting the expectations of their roles. This includes Mid-year and Year-end reviews, weekly One on One’s, and goal setting
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including:
- Management of all client communication including Amex GBT business updates and team specific updates
- Resolving conflict and providing solutions for challenges
- Ensuring accuracy of information
- Establish and foster an engaging, culture-focused team environment aligned to GBT’s Values.
- Ensure outstanding quality and client satisfaction standards are achieved through continuous improvement, innovation and thought leadership.
- Adherence to all Amex GBT policies including compliance requirements and act as a conduit for communication, ensuring that direct reports are well informed about Amex GBT policies and business updates. Inclusive of follow up measures on accurate expense reporting, mandatory compliance and workday learning, department meetings, and internal GBT events
- Responsible for monthly financials related to accounts receivable and open payables as well as supporting with team’s revenue growth goals, P&L analysis, managing expenses and research/resolution of any discrepancies.
- Ensure accurate and timely data capture through CVENT, Meetings Central and any other Amex GBT systems utilized.
- Liaises with internal Amex GBT support teams where required to support event planners and deliver on event requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role and 2 years managing a client relationship.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience managing complex, high-end events, preferably including creative and production services
- Must demonstrate outstanding people/interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills while maintaining the highest level of integrity.
- A strong working knowledge of leadership models and/or coaching techniques focusing on driving the team forward.
- Proven ability to accurately report, analyze, and influence team financials to meet/exceed revenue targets.
- Ability to manage client expectations and drive high quality customer service.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients at a meeting level and key account contact level.
- Proven aptitude for analytical skills required
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Ability to travel by airplane, boat, rail and/or car as required.
