Alternate Care Marketing Director

Position Summary
Reporting to the Vice-President of Marketing, The Alternate Care Marketing Director is a critical position responsible for the marketing strategies to drive growth, and profitability within the Alternate Care (Ambulatory Surgery Center) segment. Through market intelligence, tactics and collaboration with Commercial Leaders, this position will identify growth opportunities and new initiatives to fill the innovation pipeline and develop the business. As a marketing leader, this position will need to be an excellent communicator, resilient and flexible, with a can-do mentality. The Alternate Care Marketing Director will play an essential role in directing the marketing strategies to support long-term opportunities in this fast-growing market segment.
Duties
• Market Analysis and Strategy
o Proactively and reactively conduct in-depth market research, including primary and secondary research, and voice of Customer initiatives to identify market trends, Customer needs (financial, clinical, operational), competitive landscapes and emerging opportunities to inform portfolio and marketing strategies
o Analyze competitive brand(s)/product(s) positioning and win/failure rates to guide or inform market strategy and crystalize targeted competitive offensive/defensive strategies insights
o Collaborate with cross-functional businesses to appropriately segment alternate care market between new and certified pre-owned products
o Connect research and analytics together to tell a compelling and persuasive story and deliver clear and actionable recommendations
o Create business cases to various stakeholders, including leadership and executives to drive strategic decisions, supported by research findings, insights,
o Continuously evaluate financial and operational KPIs and develop countermeasures as appropriate
• Product Promotion
o Leverage partnership with Marketing Communications to alter and/or create collateral to effectively drive preference in the alternate care market
o Create and execute strategic market campaigns and programs to promote products successfully
o Collaborate cross-functionally with other business units to holistically position reprocessing products and services in the alternate care market
• Customer Engagement
o Inform approach and participate in alternate care trade shows, professional organizations and STERIS-sponsored events
o Strategically partners with Clinical Education team to develop content and or tools specific to the needs of the market
• Sales Support
o Partner and collaborate with Director, Strategic Channel Partnerships to gather insights and translate them into actionable strategies that drive commercial success
o Actively seek and share knowledge through collaboration with Sales training to deliver product training for any distribution partners
o Collaborate with Training Department to develop material to enhance sales product knowledge and selling capabilities in the alternate care market
• Create and execute marketing campaigns and financial programs to drive growth within the alternate care segment
Required Experience
• 12+ years of marketing management or product management experience
• Demonstrated project management skills
• Industry/sector experience (Healthcare) preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed to interact with all levels of internal clients, Customers, and external vendors
• Strong negotiation and cross function communication skills
• Self-directed problem solver & and accomplished “doer.”
• Exceptional project management: adept at managing high volume, complexity, fluidity & ambiguity while maintaining professional poise and delivering on commitments.
• Superb multi-tasker
• Excellent, organizational, and planning skills, including ability to work on multiple, concurrent projects and conduct thorough research
• Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, creativity, analytic approach, and detail-oriented
• Proficiency in MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint
