Landscape Habitat Restoration Technician

HELIX Environmental Construction Group, an environmental construction and habitat restoration company, is seeking to fill a Landscape Habitat Restoration Tech position at our Pasadena, CA location. 

  

Responsibilities for the Habitat Restoration Technician include: 

• Assist with removal of unwanted plant material (weed removal)
• Assist with planting of trees and shrubs (seeds, cutting, container stock)
• Assist with digging and compaction of irrigation trenches
• Assistance with the installation, maintenance and repair of irrigation systems
• Assistance with installation and maintenance of fencing 
• Assistance with grading and leveling 
• Work safely
• Trash collection and pick up
• Mix and apply herbicides 
• Ability to operate and maintain small gasoline powered equipment
• Perform manual work
• Proper planting techniques
• Safe and proper use of hand tools 
• Proper method of operating motorized equipment
• Safe and effective use of herbicides (mixing, loading, application, cleaning, etc.)
• Irrigation repair and troubleshooting 
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in varying terrain
• Be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs 

 

COMPENSATION $17-21.75, depending on experience, with a GREAT benefit package!

Requirements

The following is experience is required for the Habitat Restoration Technician:

• 1+ yrs. General Labor Experience or related experience
• 1+ yrs. Landscaping Experience or related experience
• Be safety minded 
• Must have strong communication skills
• Be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Work in a variety outdoor weather patterns
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. 
• Walk in a variety of uneven surfaces and slopes  
• Knowledge of native plants and weed species a PLUS

Salary Description range between $17 - $21.75/hr
