Clinical Educator of Surgical Services (Full Time)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Surgical Services Clinical Educator serves as a professional practice leader, resource, and mentor within North Country Healthcare. This position supports the ongoing clinical development of staff across the healthcare system's three surgical services departments at Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital (UCVH), Weeks Medical Center (WMC), and Androscoggin Valley Hospital (AVH), as well as the Women's Services Department at AVH. The Clinical Educator develops, implements, and evaluates educational programs and competency assessments for surgical services to advance clinical excellence, support evidence-based practice, maintain regulatory compliance, and promote continuous quality improvement.

The Surgical Services Clinical Educator will work closely with the NCH Director of Surgical Services, the Surgery Chiefs and Anesthesiology, as well as the Director of Nursing Practice to develop an annual curriculum.

This role will be hybrid; part-time in education and part-time working in surgical services.

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN), Master's Degree in Nursing Preferred.  

Certification:

• Certification as Nurse Educator (CNE) or specialty certification (e.g., CEN, CCRN, CNOR, CMSRN) preferred.

​​Licensure:​

• Current RN license (State of New Hampshire) 

• Association* accredited course in Basic Life Support (BLS) (for clinical staff), or Heartsaver CPR AED (for nonclinical staff), and renewal on a regular basis, with up to a three-month grace period after the expiration date.

Skills:

• Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams

• Proficiency in learning management systems and educational technology

• Strong computer skills, including the ability to navigate electronic medical records
