Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Orion, MI on a full-time basis.
The Role:
The Production Control Lead will be responsible for the GEPICS, EWO, PTR & CIC Team, ensuring that the team supports production with no downtime. Responsible for stable ordering criteria, working with Order Fulfillment to align order sequence. In this position you’ll rely on applied analytical thinking and problem solving to troubleshoot & resolve scheduling issues as they arise. Work will be performed under general supervision while exercising significant independent judgment.
What You'll Do:
- Support Corp scheduling process
- Maintain MGO operating plan and utilize other scheduling controls as appropriate to support plant scheduling requirements
- Research supplier scheduling issues
- Manage order flow into the plant systems (Broadcast data, production manifests, engineering change management, running PTR’s, executing BTAB moves)
- Manage the plant restriction table to ensure rule feasibility and implementation
- Provide option penetration reports and other schedule summaries as requested
- Oversee GEPICS & Engineering Change functions, provide back-up for vacation coverage when necessary
- Utilize GEPICS system for reporting & analyzing
- Assist with special order tracking
- Support model change planning and execution
- Support coordinated change planning, special builds or other plant initiatives
- Support vehicle shipping interface through VTIMS inquiries, special moves or reconsignments
- Support initiatives to mitigate obsolescence
- Drive team development & processes improvements
- Work cross functionally with both internal & external departments (Order Fulfillment, Program Team, Purchasing & Engineering)
- Support Stable Ordering Criteria (SLT 11-Short Lead Time)
- Utilize MGO, POMS, GEPICS, VTIMS & GPDS Systems
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Supply Chain experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related experience/degree
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
- Ability to work over-time as needed
- High level analytical ability where problems are complex
- High level interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in MGO & Scheduling screens
- Knowledge of production part ordering systems
- Leadership experience
- GMS experience
- Knowledge of quality control procedures
- GEPICS experience
- Engineering Change experience
