JOB TITLE:  

Saddle Up Poke Pack Leader

JOB PURPOSE:   

Student Success & Graduation is excited for Saddle Up 2026!  It takes many student employees to make the week a success.  This posting is for the Poke Pack Leader position. Within this application, you will be able to indicate your interest in additional student employment within Student Success & Graduation, such as a Peer Assisted Study Session (PASS) Leader during Saddle Up.

Students in these positions receive a competitive hourly rate of pay, with opportunities to earn overtime pay. Poke Pack Leaders and PASS Leaders will be hired for a training in the spring, three training dates in August, and the week of Saddle Up. Most student employees can expect to work roughly 100 total hours throughout trainings and the week of Saddle Up.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Provide leadership and support to a group of new students, serve as a point of contact for students transitioning to UW. Lead small group through exercises in real-world experiences in an academic setting including feedback on coursework and exams, fitness and wellness time, college connection time, study time and essential skills session. Join students in various skills and activities throughout Saddle Up and provide support as needed

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS: 

If desired, serve as a PASS Leader by helping students learn course materials through facilitating group work, attending core course lectures and holding PASS sessions

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education: Post high school education in process.

Other requirements: Excellent communication and people skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   

Previous leadership experience desired.
