THE JOB:

As a Heavy Duty Kitchen Cleaner (Food and Beverage Utility Porter) you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the equipment and areas that have been assigned or directed to you. This will include equipment such as char broilers, flat tops, ovens, griddles, salamanders, deep fryers and more.

THE STARTING RATE: $22.7156/hr

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Ensure ceilings, walls, and high-reaching areas are thoroughly cleaned, potentially requiring the use of a ladder.

• Perform deep cleaning of hot holding or cooking equipment, including but not limited to char broilers, flat tops, ovens, griddles, salamanders, and deep fryers.

• Collect pots and pans for washing in either a three-compartment sink or a pot machine.

• Break down, rinse, sanitize, and air-dry dishes, glassware, and flatware, returning them to their appropriate storage locations.

• Manage chemical detergents and utilize them appropriately during cleaning tasks.

• Scrape, wash, rinse, sanitize, and air-dry pots and pans as necessary, then store them correctly.

• Clean baseboards, floor drains, hand sinks, tables, and cutting boards.

• Sweep and mop all floors and wash all floor mats.

• Thoroughly clean kitchen equipment such as dish machines, ice machines, pot machines, prep tables, hot boxes, and refrigerators.

• Sort and dispose of trash and garbage, potentially handling biohazard cleanup.

• Maintain linen inventories and remove soiled linen as needed.

• Transport equipment, such as hot and cold boxes, speed racks, and push carts, to different areas of the property.

• Perform equipment polishing tasks as required.

• Adhere to regulations set forth by regulatory agencies such as SNHD, OSHA, and the Fire Department.

• Operate large electronic or gas-operated equipment, including ride-on floor scrubbers, pallet jacks, forklifts, trucks, and power washers.

• Complete mandatory training sessions, including those related to health and safety, as mandated by the company or governing entities.

• Report any equipment concerns to the immediate supervisor.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Experience working in a similar resort setting.

• Previous experience as a utility, houseperson dishwasher, steward or similar role.

• Comfortable with heavy-duty lifting tasks.

• Demonstrate proficiency in cleaning various cooking equipment, including but not limited to ovens, stoves, flat tops, broilers, and more.

• Adept at handling cleaning chemicals and possess a thorough understanding of their usage.

• Flexibility to work part time/on-call schedule with varying hours including the potential for working overnight and evening shifts.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Effectively communicate in English, both oral and written forms.

• Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.
