POSITION SUMMARY:
This position involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signal control devices and systems throughout the County.

STARTING SALARY HIRING RANGE:
$26.05 - $28.75/hourly
$54,181 - $59,794/annually

*This is the anticipated starting salary range for this position. Please note that the final salary will be determined by the Office of Human Resources, commensurate with experience and aligned to ensure internal equity with similarly situated roles.*

CLASS DESCRIPTION:
This is work approaching the journeyman level in the maintenance, alteration and repair of buildings, machinery and equipment. Work involves the performance of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in one or more of the building trades. Although the employee may approach the journeyman level in one or more trades, the work is not considered to be at the journeyman level in any single task. An employee may specialize in one of the trade options (such as carpentry, electrical, mechanical or plumbing), but assignments will not be restricted to that one trade. Work is performed with general supervision from a trades or administrative superior. Assignments are usually limited in nature and are carried out in accordance with trades standards and applicable regulations. May have contacts with the public, tenants, and public agencies.

*This is a Classified position, meaning that it is a part of the Howard County Classified Service upon completion of a probationary period of at least six (6) months*
