Commercial Lines Risk Control Consultant (Hybrid)

Summary:
The Risk Control consultant will work with both internal and external clients to identify and mitigate potential hazards and exposures for our commercial lines customers. In addition, the Risk Control consultant will partner with external vendors to monitor turnaround time, quality and customer service.
Responsibilities:
Internal
- Identify emerging risk control issues for the company.
- Oversee the technical performance of services staff assigned to Inspection function
- Resolve problems with vendor quality and timeliness
- Collaborate with CL underwriting to update inspection guidelines as needed.
- Advise insureds, underwriters and agents who have questions regarding safety, risk control and completed inspections.
- Provides CL Underwriters with training for inspection vendors and/or risk control topics.
- Maintain contact with professional organizations and keep current on industry trends and practices.
External
- Provide customized risk control inspection and consulting services to commercial lines property customers.
- Provide support to CL Agents as needed.
Vendor Management
- Identify, interview and recommend vendors.
- Review vendor work for quality and timeliness in accordance with MAPFRE standards.
- Provide vendor with feedback on performance
- Educate vendor on MAPFRE People Caring for People principles
Work Systems
- Integrate vendor systems with our workflow.
- Develop reports that will help us monitor vendor performance. Leverage vendor systems if possible.
- Develop reports that will show the payback on work done by vendors. Leverage vendor systems if possible.
- Identify opportunities to link vendor systems with internal systems.
Skills/Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of risk control, inspection and vendor management: preferably in safety, risk or construction management or related field or recognized relevant certifications (such as ASP, CSP, ARM, CFPS); 3 or more years in property risk control.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience.
Experience: 4 - 6 years or Associates Degree equivalent plus 6 - 8 years
