About the opportunity
The School of Art, Communication and English (SACE) explores the full spectrum of human expression and creativity, applying digital technology to the humanities and social sciences. SACE is nationally and internationally recognised for research strengths in literary studies, visual arts, art history, film studies, communication, media practice, and digital cultures.
They are currently seeking applications for an experienced Project Officer to provide project management advice and operational support to research project teams working under an Australia Research Council (ARC) funded Laureate Fellowship. The ARC Laureate is the most prestigious award granted to Australian researchers, and Professor Terry Flew leads a five-year project on “Mediated Trust: Ideas, Interests, Institutions, Futures”.
The role involves coordinating the implementation and delivery of activities and tasks to meet established milestones and deliverables. Responsibilities include providing project management support to a work stream within a multi-faceted program, establishing project teams, developing and implementing plans, managing project financials, and preparing status reports in line with broader project governance requirements.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Provide operational project management support to assist in the planning and establishment of projects
- provide project administration support and project/program financial management support and preparing status reports in line with broader project governance requirements
- support the establishment and communication of the project management methodology, including project processes, document and reporting templates and planning tools
- manage work-stream stakeholders and communications, ensuring effective collaboration and teamwork with other project teams and stakeholders across the University.
About you
- demonstrated experience in project coordination to strict deadlines and manage various demands
- demonstrated experience engaging with multiple diverse internal and external stakeholders
- experience managing a diverse group of key internal/external stakeholders on large or complex projects.
- experience monitoring budgets and expenditure
- excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills
- has previously worked in the higher education/tertiary sector or at a complex, multi-faceted organisation.
