About the Nurse Extern II Role
As a Nurse Extern in the NICU, you’ll work closely with seasoned NICU nurses, supporting infant care while building core competencies in neonatal nursing. This role is recognized by the Arizona Board of Nursing and designed for nursing students who have completed at least two clinical rotations and are on track to graduate by January 15, 2026.

What You'll Do
• Assist in gathering and documenting newborn data
• Perform basic nursing skills (with documented competency and per policy)
• Gain real-world experience in a Level III NICU setting
• Learn from experienced nurses dedicated to family-centered, evidence-based care
 

Who We're Looking For
✔ Currently enrolled in a board-approved/accredited nursing program
✔ Completed at least two clinical rotations (third semester preferred)
✔ Graduating by Jan 15, 2026
✔ Current BLS/CPR certification
✔ Available for training 2 days per week following orientation
✔ Passionate about neonatal care and committed to safe, compassionate practice
