Full-Time LPN - Pediatric Skilled Nursing - Maryville, TN

 

Job Description: Are you a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a passion for pediatric care? We have a full-time opportunity in Maryville, TN, where you can make a profound difference in the life of a 7-year-old male patient requiring total care. This role involves attending school with the patient during the week, providing specialized G-tube care, and ensuring all his medical needs are met throughout the day.

• Location: Maryville, TN
• Position Type: Full-Time
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Patient Details:

• Age: 7-year-old male
• Care Needs: G-tube, total care, skilled nursing, attends school during the week

Responsibilities:

• Provide total care, including G-tube management and skilled nursing interventions, throughout the day.
• Attend school with the patient, ensuring all medical needs are met during school hours.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, school staff, and the patient’s family to ensure a seamless care plan is in place.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of the patient’s care, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.

Requirements:

• Current LPN license in Tennessee.
• Experience with pediatric care, particularly with G-tube management.
• CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with children and families.
• Ability to work independently and provide compassionate, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Perform selected nursing procedures within the scope of LPN practice
• Provide patient and family teaching according to plan outlined by the RN
• Monitor patient's vital signs and make specific measurements and observations
• Monitor and record intake and output. Report significant changes immediately
• Observe, assess and record patient's physical and mental condition and reports any changes
• Administer medications as instructed and as ordered by the physician and instructed by the RN and document the patient's file accordingly
• Attend and participate in multi-disciplinary patient case conferences, staff meetings and in-service education programs as assigned

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse / LPN license in good standing
• Previous private duty, home health, hospice, hospital or skilled nursing experience preferred
• Active CPR certification
• Familiarity with electronic health records
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license and current automobile insurance
