Responsibilities
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $44,700 - $84,500 per year.Final compensation will be determined by location, skills, experience, qualifications and the career level at which the position is filled.
We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant. The Accounting department is part of the broader Corporate Controller organization under the jurisdiction of the Chief Accounting Officer at Old National Bancorp (ONB). The Controllership group provides accounting compliance and oversight for all transactions, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment, adherence to internal controls and accurate financial statement reporting and presentation. The Accounting department is seeking a Staff Accountant I to assist in our duties as a valued business partner, providing timely and accurate recording of transactions, account reconciliations and ad hoc analysis as well as assisting the Controllership group with internal controls, external reporting, accounting research and any other related activity. The candidate will gain exposure and offers many opportunities to engage with the various cross-functional groups including but not limited to Operations, Tax, Legal, Operations, Finance, Treasury, external auditors, and the Lines of Business which the Controllership group supports. To be considered for this role, candidates must have a basic understanding of US GAAP, possess strong time management and analytical skills, and be detail oriented. These core skills are critical to the successful candidates professional development as they progress in their career into a seasoned accountant with a proven track record of problem solving in a pressure sensitive environment.
Responsible for general accounting duties for all Company Affiliates. This includes, but not limited to, supporting monthly and quarterly closing processes, standard journal entries, preparing financial statements and departmental reconciliations. This position will collaborate with the staff and management in the Controllership group, Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, Human Resources, Tax, and Loan and Deposit Operations.
Key Accountabilities
- Supports the monthly/quarterly and annual closing process.
- Responsible for general accounting duties for various processes.
- Reviews daily Bank activity and proposes adjusting entries as needed.
- Prepare ad hoc balance sheet and income statement analysis as directed.
- Maintains procedures and internal controls related to responsibilities.
- Reconciliation of various general ledger accounts and bank accounts for all Affiliates
- Research and follow through on outstanding items or missing documentation to ensure prompt and proper clearance of dated items.
- Prepare supporting documentation for audits.
