Business Analyst, Global Tender Management
The Business Analyst will ensure that the Global Tender Management Air & Sea process and design is executed and improved to deliver desired results to the company. The Global Tender Management department is a dedicated resource with the primary responsibilities to qualify, review, execute, procure rates, coordinate, and validate RFx type(s) opportunities to support complete, accurate, timely responses on or before our customers designated RFx due date(s). Global Tender Management personnel will work with the necessary enterprise stakeholders to perform and fulfil these functions. The scope of work includes time sensitive projects, requiring appointed candidate to perform in a fast paced while working on several projects concurrently.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Executes on multiple tasks and activities through the RFx process, document and measure process and results of customer responses throughout the response lifecycle.
• Responsible for working with other company functions to learn and gain expert knowledge on the appropriate DSV solution offerings.
• Evaluates, coordinates, and documents the Rfx business needs that need to be met.
• Creates and reviews data/process flow diagrams and documentation as required, participates in discussions to elicit requirements using approved business analysis techniques (interviews, document analysis, working sessions, documented business processes, and market intelligence).
• Maintains document control procedures per the established department Policy.
• Analyzes issues, activities, and processes.
• Measures and reports on requirements activity and maintain timely communications with all relevant stakeholders throughout the project life cycle to the underlying system configuration.
• Supports the head of GTM to identify and document constraints, assumptions and risks associated with new customer RFP’s and measure and report on requirements activity and maintain timely communications with all relevant stakeholders throughout the RFx Tender project life cycle.
• Plans, implements and executes pricing recommendations and manages the customer tender portfolio.
• Audits and reviews processes to ensure compliance with pricing recommendations.
• Develops strategic recommendations by working with business units to analyze and understand all necessary data, including internal sales data, market trends, competitive landscape and current prices.
• Populates pricing requests with proper rates, accessorial, and fuel billing rules
• Accepts, deciphers and processes pricing requests in a timely manner via multiple channels including the Internet, telephone, fax and/or email.
• Enters, compiles, and maintains rates for all modes in company data storage databases
• Responds to internal and external inquiries including identifying, investigating, and resolving customer and vendor rate problems without delay.
• Supports the commercial efforts in procurement, pricing and quoting mode specific requests
• Coordinates proposal development with sales, customer service, and global offices/agents to ensure timely quoting and follow up on pricing requests.
• Validates quotes for accuracy and profitability.
• Takes initiative in identifying and resolving issues around pricing.
• Works on projects for regional and local customers.
• General administration functions adhering to department policies & procedures.
• Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND / WORK EXPERIENCE
• Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or related field is preferred
• Two to four years procurement or operational experience in the Transportation Industry with an emphasis on data analysis, accompanied by an understanding of supply chain life cycles, and sales processes.
