Job Summary
Has responsibility for providing various expediting, administrative, and data entry support to the Purchasing and Inventory Control (IC) teams. This includes ensuring materials received at the third-party logistics (3PL) partner facility are properly uploaded into their system, assisting with locating materials, and monitoring for quality concerns.
Schedule: This role operates on a continental shift, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with Thursday being a rotating workday every other week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in maintaining the manufacturing system (SAP) with accurate and timely data for material integration.
- Utilizes system reports to verify receipt of materials at the 3PL facility and ensure accurate inventory tracking.
- Expedites open purchase orders and updates commit dates in SAP for commit date accuracy, including updating the Hot Sheet for timely receipt into the system.
- Monitors incoming materials for physical quality concerns, such as damage or defects, and escalates issues as necessary.
- Assists in locating specific materials within the 3PL facility to ensure timely access for operations.
- Maintains component order parameters and performs data integrity updates based on supplier responses.
- Clears receiving and QC problem shelves by obtaining issue details and coordinating resolution, including RMA authorization from the supply base when required.
- Provides the supply base with weekly open order reports to ensure accuracy and timely follow-up on outstanding orders.
- Provides assistance to buyers by sending faxes and running workcell-specific reports as needed.
- Occasionally inputs purchase orders as directed by Planner/Buyers.
- Recommends process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in material handling and system integration.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Knowledge Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, 3PL partners, and the supply base.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Proficiency in SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, along with familiarity with other inventory management systems.
- High level of self-management, demonstrating strong integrity and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to read and understand visual aids, simple instructions, and correspondence.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry, inventory tracking, and quality monitoring.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, compute rates and percentages, and interpret graphs.
- Physical capability to walk extensively and navigate the facility daily to oversee material handling and assist with locating materials. Lift up to 40lbs.
