Job Description
To start with, the position of New Product Development Intern sits comfortably in the New Product Development team and the international headquarters based in Utrecht. An incredible diverse team that helps each other learn, grow and develop. Just how we like it! And as a New Product Development Intern you will be given full responsibility and accountability for projects from the beginning of your placement and you’ll have an opportunity to fully integrate and actually make a difference. We offer internships in several of our New Product Development category teams including: Single Serve, Instant Mixes, Pure Instant, and Roast & Ground Whole Bean. We are recruiting for positions in all four product development teams. If you are successful in any of these four positions you will work on your own research project related to recipe development in dairy and/or black coffee, improving brewing or product quality and innovating for our diverse product portfolio. In addition, you will be supporting the activities of the team (organizing tastings and analyzing the results, recipe development, shelf-life analysis of some products). For this, we don’t just need you to be a knowledgeable professional but also strongly rely on your interpersonal skills as well as your drive for success. Know that you’ll have a crucial role in creating and protecting the impact we look for in our value chain. With this said we like you to take responsibility over the following tasks:
You will be able to independently plan and execute experiments related to your project areas, as well as produce technical reports/presentations and periodically communicate key findings to stakeholders.
You will be a part of one of the teams within R&D, but also have the opportunity to interact with your peers in other departments within and outside of R&D.
In addition, at busy times, you may be expected to support other ongoing project activities outside of your immediate team and, for some disciplines, occasional international travel may be required.
Qualifications
We are looking for a pioneer with a drive for excellence. Someone that holds themselves accountable and doesn’t shy away from responsibility. Given the nature of the role we feel it’s important for you to have a willingness to learn as well as a solid understanding of your own added value. We thrive in diverse teams and look for people that appreciate that as much as we do. We can give you a list of “must haves”, however that’s not how we view your candidacy. But to give you a bit of guidance as to what we feel is needed in this role, we’ll share our “nice to have” list with you:
Master & Bachelor students looking for a 6 month internship at our Utrecht Research and Development Center.
Preferable degrees include Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or Chemistry.
You are highly motivated.
Excellent communicator, fluent in English.
Inquisitive, analytical and prepared to work in a fast-paced, dynamic international environment.
