The Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) Technology division is responsible for enabling and evolving Capital One’s foundational cloud infrastructure layer, including observability, connectivity, resilience and availability.

Our TPM Sr. Managers have:

• Strong technical backgrounds (ideally building highly scalable platforms, products, or services) with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout delivery life-cycle

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills

• Excellent problem solving and influencing skills

• A quantitative approach to problem solving and a collaborative implementer to holistic solutions; a systems thinker 

• Ability to simplify the technically complex and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives

• Exceptional cross-team collaboration; able to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done.

• Highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listener, and deep seated empathy for teams and partners

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree

• At least 5 years of experience managing technical programs

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in initiating, executing and running resilience-related projects and programs, including cloud- and data center-based initiatives

• 5+ years of experience in technical design and implementation of complex networking environments, Infrastructure systems, business and core applications,

• 3+ years of experience in designing, running and documenting extensive and complex recovery testing initiatives in production and on-prod environments,, including plan development and validation, evidence collection, and after-action reporting

• 3+ years of experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services / architecture - preferably using AWS

• 3+ years experience delivering large and complex programs - where you own the business or technical vision, collaborate with large cross-functional teams, secure commitments on deliverables, and unblock teams to land business impact

• Experience with enterprise-level resilience planning concepts, including both technical and non-technical (Business Continuity and Incident Response) considerations

• Experience in building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment

• Bachelor's Degree or higher, or equivalent experience in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Networking, Infrastructure)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 for Sr. Manager, Technical Program Management

 

Plano, TX: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr. Manager, Technical Program Management

 

Richmond, VA: $182,500
