Job Summary (Primary function)
The Strategic Relationship Manager provides support and assistance in the planning, execution and management of outsourcing for services associated with global clinical trials. The Manager minimizes regulatory, legal, and financial risks as it pertains to outsourcing agreements and to maintain strategic sup relationships.
Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
- Work with clinical study teams to evaluate outsourcing needs for global clinical trials and assist in developing specifications for contracted deliverables.
- Participate in the selection of new suppliers; and lead/assist as necessary the qualification of new suppliers.
- Manage supplier categories to include regular intervals for category analysis / improvement
- Assist as necessary with the initiation and preparation of change requests.
- Work with clinical study team to monitor supplier’s compliance with contract terms, conditions, commitments and notifications.
- Work with clinical study teams to ensure clear communication and reporting of overall service level performance of strategic and/or high risk suppliers and that knowledge transfer on standard processes, tools, and supply base awareness is effectively occurring through appropriate channels.
- Serve as relationship manager for strategic suppliers.
- Organize and document governance team meetings with strategic suppliers, specifically to track contract deliverables and obligations, evaluate performance and develop action plans, if needed, based on performance trends.
- Manage issues related to invoices and provide oversight of supplier budget reconciliation, in collaboration with Finance department.
- Collaborate cross functionally with Strategic Sourcing, Legal and Compliance Departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree in Life Science, Business Management or related field and 7 years experience in Contracts or Proposals or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.; Req
- Knowledge of CRO Industry.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and understanding of costing models.
- Excellent knowledge of contract, proposals and budget processes and ability to interpret budgets and protocols.
- Possess strong analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and customers.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $87,600.00 - $144,600.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
