General Assembly Repair Technician

• Build state of the art automotive prototype vehicles, systems, and subsystem
• Work efficiently within a multidisciplinary cooperative environment
• Critical thinking skills to work without instruction manuals or workbooks
• Approach problems in a consistent and systematic way
• Working with engineering to fabricate and/or modify system and subsystem components
• Maintain a high knowledge level of high voltage, low voltage, and general electric vehicle systems
• Must have the ability to work with various teams including General Assembly, BIW, Quality, and Engineering across a wide variety of issues and/ or corrective actions identified in production, testing and inspection process
• Knowledge of: Methods, techniques, parts, tools and materials used in the manufacturing and rectification of vehicles
• Perform rectification on electric power train, chassis, body, and other components through a comprehensive diagnosis and evaluation
• Diagnose problems quickly, find solutions through root-cause analysis, and be empowered to take immediate action
• Assist and interface with Quality, Design, and Process Engineering teams to improve work instructions, parts, jigs, tools, and other related components
• Operate and maintain a wide variety of shop tools, power tools, and automotive electrical test

Requirements

• Automotive technician degree, certification or equivalent work experience
• 5 years Luxury Automobile Technician experience
• 3 years electric vehicle technician experience
• Must possess a valid driver license with good records
• Microsoft Office skills
• Willing to work overtime, weekend, etc... Advantageous
• Professional Race team experience
• You bring your own professional automotive toolbox
• Understanding Electrical schematics
• Fabrication skills (welding, milling, lathe) and wire harness building (soldering, crimping, splicing) etc.
• Experience in building precision mechanical assemblies
• Proof of excellence in your past position
