WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Production Designer is an integral part of the DEPT® team and helps to provide support to various clients and projects. You work with a large team and are ready to contribute by doing whatever it takes to meet and even exceed the client's needs. This includes bringing a deep passion for organization and streamlining the production and delivery workflow of interactive projects. You possess a strong design taste level, but your true talent lies in your technical ability to take a design system and implement it across touchpoints. You are design-focused, detail-oriented, excellent at collaborating and multitasking, and eager to be part of a team that makes things come to life. 

This special someone will regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment and will understand the importance of proper naming, layering, and folder conventions. You also meticulously check your work to ensure guidelines are followed, proper assets are leveraged, and things are delivered as they should be. You are able to work fast without sacrificing quality.  You will be dealing with multiple personality types, and need to be able to adapt based on the person you are working, and communicating with. 

In your role, you will report to the Production Design Manager, who will drive the strategy and direction for the creative and design team. You will support the strategic goals of the company by focusing on the success of these activities and assisting with meeting the short and long-term objectives of the organization.

  • Collaborate with a large team to meet and exceed the design needs for various company accounts.
  • Assist in the design and production of large-scale digital projects including websites, banners, branding, content and more.
  • Design and layout production assets for interactive and responsive design using existing design systems.
  • Prepare and deliver image assets for web, email, paid marketing, blog, social, and other digital communication channels.
  • Design, repurpose and package regional kits for global regions and localization.
  • Build presentations, craft documentation and deliver asset kits to developers and other team members.
  • Juggle a mix of large and small projects, often with overlapping priority and urgency.
  • Build and maintain working files inside a collaborative file structure.
  • Act as a team player by contributing to the creative execution of the company’s efforts and putting the client and the team before yourself.
  • Work with minimal processes in place, solving problems by being optimistic and using proactive thought processes and skills.
  • Collaborate to ensure that the company’s services and products always exceed the clients’ expectations.
  • Work across all departments of BASIC and the client as an embedded team.
  • Support and grow in the role by actively seeking out and proposing ideas to better improve company operations.
  • Take on other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Knowledge, communicative and analytical skills equivalent to those normally obtained through receipt of a Bachelor's Degree in a design, visual arts or a related field, or equivalent years of additional related professional experience.  
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in design and interactive work.
  • A high level of mastery of Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Hubspot or similar, Google Suite, DropBox, Basecamp, Slack, Microsoft Office Suite, Harvest, Zoom.
  • Able to use excellent communication skills and creative inspiration to collaborate with a large but cohesive team of over 40 individuals from different backgrounds and disciplines.
  • Knowledge of visual design, user-centered experience design, interaction design, brand development, and the creative process.
  • Skills in web design, image manipulation, and general graphic design.
  • A solid point of view and a collaborative nature.
