  • Present research discoveries to colleagues and scientific meetings (oral or poster presentations and publish scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals).
  • Lead ethical, high-quality research experiments in accordance with regulatory agencies and compliance guidelines.
  • Design or assist in the development of medium to low-throughput assays used to support both small and large molecule drug development programs.
  • Design and implement in vitro, ex vivo. It is critical that the candidate is familiar with the pathophysiology of heart diseases and related co-morbidities.
  • Independently design, perform, and analyze laboratory experiments, including troubleshooting, optimization of assays, data collection, interpretation, biostatistical analysis, and presentation.
  • Participation in cross-functional drug development teams as a key intellectual and technical contributor.
  • Function optimally in a team-based or collaborative environment as part of a highly integrated team, possess excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to produce reliable and reproducible results.

  • 5 or more years of experience in cardiometabolic research in industry or academic settings.
  • Willing to work in a team environment and possess good laboratory documentation skills.
  • Postdoctoral research experience.
  • Ability to perform in vitro assays to dissect the mechanism of action of therapeutic molecules in cardiac myocytes, fibroblasts, adipocytes, endothelial cells, and other relevant cardiac cell types.
  • In vitro experience with cultured cell lines, siRNA transfection techniques, western blotting, quantitative PCR techniques, RNA/DNA isolation, laboratory automation, high-content imaging technology, and fluorescence microscopy.
