Job Description
AECOM is seeking a talented Senior Track Engineer to join our World Class Rail Team in our New York Metro office. The ideal candidate will serve as the New York Metro lead and representative for the track discipline. You will also manage multidisciplinary projects with all transit clients in NY Metro area. Typical duties and responsibilities:
- Lead delivery of projects.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Advise and lead rail pursuits.
- Perform civil design on a variety of rail/transit projects.
- Preparation of design documents.
- Develop specifications, cost estimates and project schedules.
- Prepare technical reports and analyses.
- Coordinates and provides technical expertise for mid to large size projects.
- Leads technical client relationships related to track design, track construction and phasing of work.
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
- Oversee and manage work within the ROW for multiple projects.
- Work with other track staff to manage projects on the East Coast and around the country.
- Review and approves track designs prepared by others.
- Performs track design, as needed.
- Performs construction management/program management for track projects.
- Develop estimates for the track engineering budgets.
- Assists in determining schedules to perform track work.
- Coordinates with multiple departments related to a projects scope of work.
- Develop procurement specifications.
- Perform field track inspections and develop criteria and testing requirements.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BS/BA plus 8 years or more of demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in NY or NJ or the ability to obtain within one year of start.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience on rail and transit projects.
- Expertise with MicroStation Open Rail/Open Roads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Knowledge of FRA, MTA (NYCT, LIRR and MNR), AREMA and local railroad/transit criteria,
- Familiarity with track, station, and layover facility designs.
