Head of Data Science and AI

Location – Switzerland, Europe

Job model – Hybrid

 

In this role your are responsible for leading a team of Data Scientists, Technicians and Engineers in the area of Formulation Performance Modeling across a portfolio of Innovation projects, as well as ensuring the team is deploying the latest, state-of-the-art technologies and skills in order to develop differentiated BG specific applications​ in the area of food, perfumery and beauty.

Your key responsibilities

• Lead a cross functional team of Data Scientists, Engineers, Technicians, Agency workers and First Line Managers in the area of Application specific Formulation Performance Modeling, Algorithm Development & Training.
• Responsible for the successful delivery of individual Innovation Projects against technical, business and project management KPIs; ensure business priorities and requirements are clear, meaningful, and aligned through consultation with Business and Project partners.
• Support the development of mid- and long-term project innovation programs.
• Define and secure IP in alignment with IP Strategy.
• Foster and develop business relevant capabilities with a focus on value creation and impact, in close collaboration with partnering S&R teams and D&T
• Map the Competitive Landscape in the area of Application specific Algorithm Development and influence the S&R strategy accordingly.
• Contribute to the creation of the S&R Data Science Strategy and take responsibility for the implementation of the strategy within the area of e-creation & recipe builders.
• Attract and retain top talent and ensuring their professional development; be a role model for Safety and Care and integrity.

You bring

• PhD or MSc in Data Science or related field with 10+ years in the Life Science industry.
• Track record of strategic thinking and experience in managing cross-function teams.
• Extensive track record of People development and team leadership, preferably with global teams.
• Experience leading complex projects blending scientific and business acumen.
• Experience with OPEX and CAPEX management and responsibility.
