Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Logistics and Warehouse Manager located in Buffalo Grove, IL
Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain Management the Logistics and Warehouse Manager will Implement a successful operation by managing all distribution, warehouse functions. Provides materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services,
supervising staff.
What a typical day looks like:
- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Complies with local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
- Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Monitors volume of business and defines appropriate work schedule.
- Sets productivity and establishes necessary controls to ensure objectives are met.
- Monitors condition and maintenance of operating / material handling equipment.
- Constantly monitors the efficient handling of shipments and receipts to create an error free culture.
- Reviews the loading and unloading schedules to maximize efficiencies and reduce expenses.
- Coordinate floor cycle counts, physical inventory, and reconciling records.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team,
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and extensive knowledge of purchasing policies and practices.
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience, 5 of these years in a supervisory role.
- With advanced experience using MRP systems.
- MUST have knowledge of logistics, warehousing, and distribution.
