The Department of Biological Sciences, one of four departments in the College of Science, has over 45 faculty, 160 graduate and 2,800 undergraduate students, and 36 postdoctoral fellows and research scientists. Our faculty is a community of scholars dedicated to research and teaching in Ecology, Environmental Science, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Physiology, Neuroscience, Plant Biology, and Organismal-environment interactions. We offer Bachelor's degrees in Biology, Biochemistry, Ecology for Environmental Science, Medical Laboratory Science, and Forensic Science, and Master's and PhD degrees in Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Environmental Science. Position Overview
The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of North Texas (UNT), a Research 1 (R1) Carnegie classification university with over 49,000 students, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in Plant Biology with an emphasis on plant stress responses and/or plant development. Preference will be given to applicants with research interests in the areas of biochemical, molecular, and physiological basis of plant growth, development, and response to the environment, including abiotic and biotic stressors, which would contribute to and collaborate with our growing group of plant researchers and relate well with other ongoing research at UNT.
