Description
Vistra seeks an outreach and partnership development coordinator to provide public relations and communications support to the Department of Defense’s (DOD) Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (OUSD P&R) and the Defense Suicide Prevention Office (DSPO). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communications strategy and development. This role requires the ability to develop, manage, and promote outreach and engagement materials to individuals, groups, or organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Outreach and Engagement Materials: Design and ensure commercial quality print of outreach and engagement materials, including brochures, posters, pocket cards, magnets, flyers, banners, digital materials, and other promotional material.
- Ensure all content is aligned with clinical practices of care, safe messaging for suicide prevention, and public health practices.
- Outreach and Engagement Materials: Develop, update, produce, procure, and distribute suicide prevention outreach and engagement materials on an annual basis, at a minimum, per direction and approval from DSPO.
- Review all outreach and engagement materials for completeness, accuracy, appropriate language, and form for organization, visual design, and usability.
- Ensure content is mechanically correct (e.g., spelling, punctuation, grammar) and aligns with the Manual for Written Material unless others directed.
- Ensure final electronic versions of documents include all corrections while coordinating with the JSP or other government service provider for website management/updates and digital analytics and media monitoring.
- Ensure all documents and resources are 508 compliant.
- Maintain a current inventory of outreach materials and ensure the inventory is readily accessible to DSPO staff.
- Engagement, Outreach, and Partnership Strategies and Evaluations: Assist with the development of engagement, outreach, and partnership strategies and evaluations for DSPO.
- Outreach and Engagement Planning and Implementation: Gather and consolidate input from government staff to develop draft suicide prevention outreach and engagement annual plans, plans of action and milestones, and other planning and implementation processes.
- Provide the approved outreach and engagement across the DoD and other federal and non-federal agencies through government approved dissemination plan or direction.
- Support DSPO’s partnership with the Psychological Health Center of Excellence Real Warriors Campaign, to include strategic communication support such as bi-monthly social media calendars, attending bi-weekly and weekly meetings, assisting with planning and implementation processes, and other support as needed by the government.

- Experience: 3-5 years of experience
