Claims Manager, Property Fast Track & Specialty Claims (Hybrid Work Model)

About the Role

 

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that your team lives up to our Claims Commitment by delighting clients and brokers and differentiating Swiss Re Corporate Solutions as a Commercial Insurer of Choice. The successful candidate will have a real passion for leading and mentoring a group of dedicated claims handlers of varied skill levels.

 

In addition to capturing and analyzing data to develop & present findings on Claims trends, while also building and maintaining relationships with customers & brokers, the Claims Manager:

 

• Provides advice and insight into US trends and exposures
• Collaborates with internal and external business partners to market our products and services through industry events and client meetings
• Monitors the team's processes and workload to achieve maximum productivity, ensuring claims handling strategies- including coverage, quantum and liability are well developed
• Supervises, and/or participate in, negotiations on complex and sensitive claims
• Develops key talent and engage in succession planning
• Drives accountability in how we use external vendors, including independent adjusters, third party administrators, outside legal counsel and others
• Conduct quality assurance claim file reviews on a quarterly basis
• Participates with peers and leadership in setting the overall strategic plan for the NA Property & Specialty claim team and communicates key insights
• Represents Swiss Re at client and industry related conferences, events and professional society functions

 

The position will report to the Head of Property & Specialty Claims, North America.

 

 

About You

 

You bring your strong analytical, negotiation and influencing abilities coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills to ensure success for yourself and the team.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also a must!

 

Additional requirements include:

 

• University degree or equivalent is preferred
• Demonstrated 10 years' experience handling Property, Casualty & Inland Marine claims
• Proficient at analyzing and presenting claims data and trends using tools such as Excel and PowerPoint
• Possess adjuster licenses as needed for various jurisdictions

 

Potential travel up to 10%
