JOB SUMMARY
The Tissue Management shared resource in the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center is looking to hire a Clinical Research Assistant II who would like exposure to the clinical research field. Our core facility collects human biospecimens which are used by faculty on campus for their research. In this role you will work in a fast-paced environment and interact with patients and clinical staff at UT Southwestern and Parkland Hospitals. In addition to the standard duties below, you will communicate with clinical, surgical and pathology staff regarding timely research specimen collection. You will also be explaining the purpose of the cancer center biorepository to patients and consenting those who agree to participate. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
- High School Diploma or
- Associate's Degree in medical or science related field or
- Bachelor's Degree medical or science related field and no prior experience
- Experience
- 2 years experience with High School Diploma or
- 1 year experience with Associate's Degree
Preferred
- Licenses and Certifications
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT may be required based on affiliate location requirements.
- CPR AED may be required based on affiliate location requirements.
- CPR certification needed prior to start date
JOB DUTIES
- Understands visit schedules, criteria and protocol requirements for low complexity trials (e.g., questionnaire, data registry, scripted); schedules research visits.
- Assists research staff by completing research protocol related tasks.
- Reviews and abstracts information from medical records including eligibility criteria.
- Enters data into case report forms or other data collection system based on research study. Assists with maintenance of study level documentation.
- Assists with data queries and possible edits for accuracy.
- Compiles data for regulatory requirements and /or deadlines for local or sponsor submissions.
