About the role

SMX is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and manage all Army Counterintelligence Command (ACIC) G6 Cable Infrastructure Installation Projects. The ideal candidate will possess a PMP, Project+, CAPM, or an industry-recognized certification in project management. This role involves overseeing projects that encompass installation of, and not limited to fiber optics, copper cabling, terminals, and connections for the complete set-up of NIPR/SIPR/JWICS functions across all ACIC commands across the globe.  The Senior Project Manager will provide comprehensive project management for initiatives involving ACIC civilians, military personnel, and other ACIC contractors/contract vehicles. Additionally, the Senior Project Manager will provide oversight and guidance for the SMX Infrastructure Team and will deliver regular updates to executive-level leadership.

This is a full-time onsite position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all ACIC G6 cable infrastructure installation projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects related to cable infrastructure installation.
  • Accomplish projects such as new installations, life cycle replacement projects, and cable plant installations that are compliant with commercial TEMPTEST and NIST standards in CONUS and OCONUS locations. 
  • Lead/conduct/create/update site network surveys, designs, and installations under the direction of the U.S. Government in CONUS and OCONUS locations. 
  • Coordinate and collaborate with ACIC civilians, military personnel, and other contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Provide oversight and guidance for the infrastructure installation team.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and mitigating risks as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to stakeholders.
  • Provide quality assurance by inspecting the work of subordinate employees.
  • Provide consistent updates to government provided project tracker.

Required Skills, Experience & Education

  • PMP, Project+, CAPM, or an industry-recognized certification in project management.

  • At least 8 years of project management experience.

  • Proven experience in managing complex projects, preferably within a military or government setting.

  • Strong understanding of military communication functions, specifically related to cable infrastructure and NIPR/SIPR/JWICS connectivity in order to oversee cable infrastructure installation team performing the following functions:

    • Installation and testing of cabling, connections, patch cords, patch panels, equipment enclosures/cabinets, cable tray, PDS conduit, and associated hardware. 
    • Installation of various types of cable tray, Protective Distribution System (PDS), and Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) conduits and associated hardware. 
    • Fusion splicing, termination, and inside/outside plant (OSP) installation. 
    • Proper handling and installation of ST, SC, LC, RJ45, CAT3 copper cabling systems and existing industry communication cable standards. 
    • Interpret work orders and technical drawings to determine what is required per installation project. 
    • Operate, and interpret results for optical time domain reflectometer (OTDRs), Visual Fault Locator (VFL), optical loss test set (OLTS) 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams, including civilians, military personnel, and contractors.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Willingness to travel as required for project needs.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project for project planning, scheduling, and tracking.

  • Must possess a valid U.S. Passport. 

  • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License. 

  • Must be willing to travel 25% or greater CONUS and OCONUS locations. 

  • This position requires the ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50lbs, and perform overhead work.

  • Have a TS/SCI Clearance with willingness to obtain a CI Polygraph.
