General Ledger Accountant

Facebook is seeking a dynamic individual contributor to fill the position of General Ledger Accountant. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for the intercompany accounting of Facebook’s global business and will be developing and enhancing the financial systems supporting a fast-growing global presence. In this role, you will work closely with a large team of cross-functional business partners, engineers, and the broader finance team to develop scalable accounting and operation solutions for month end close activities. As a self-starter who works with limited direction, you will take full ownership of your areas of responsibility. You excel in problem solving, leading automation projects, recommending sound solutions, and analyzing and understanding complex data. You combine business acumen and technical accounting knowledge to provide sound advice to your business partners.General Ledger Accountant Responsibilities

• Partner with Finance, Operations and Business Development teams to understand business models, and provide accounting support for Intercompany transactions.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls for financial reporting and internal policies.
• Document and improve the SAB99 positions and process on significant accounting arrangements and unadjusted entries.
• Assist in development of accounting policies and operations for new accounting initiatives and business processes.
• Assist with month-end close procedures including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and other duties as necessary.
• Fulfill internal and external audit requests.
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly flux analysis packages to management

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related discipline
• 4+ years of experience in accounting or finance
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Internal Controls
• Experience implementing and improving business processes and systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in fast-paced collaborative environments while demonstrating excellent communication skills
• Experience demonstrating high-level of autonomy in environments which require high attention to detail
• Experience partnering with Operations Business Partners and Financial Planning teams
• Big 4 public accounting experience
