Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARYExperienced and self-motivated individual who thrives in a challenging, constantly changing, pharmaceutical environment. Responsible for day to day activities related to direct material procurement and material planning for the growing portfolio of products. Ability to switch between independent, teamwork, and support work frequently. Able to navigate and optimize use of SAP to support role and other team’s requests for data/reporting. Strong industry and supplier base knowledge. Understanding and awareness of supply chain and logistics.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
Position is eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan with a target of 6% of the base salary.

Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES PERFORMED BY THE INCUMBENT.
- Responsible for direct material planning of raw materials, packaging and operating supplies.
- Support and collaborate indirect material procurement, as needed.
- Support new development products/projects.
- Purchasing activities include but are not limited to; sourcing vendors/supply, RFQ, and purchase order placement.
- Ensure on time delivery of correct materials per specification and appropriate documentation is obtained for each shipment.
- Report out on supplier performance.
- Issue and track supplier complaints. Interface regularly with suppliers. Coordinate and attend business reviews.
- Analyze the Material Requirements Plan (MRP) to determine ordering, expediting and delivery re-scheduling of materials as necessary to support Master Production Schedule (MPS).
- Collaborate with Production planner on finished good forecast, scheduling and ordering for long lead time items and/or critical materials to support production requirements.
- Provide support to production planner as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels recommend adjustments to reorder points and/or safety stock to optimize inventory.
- Monitor inventory expiry recommend procurement action to align with production requirements.
- Provide recommendations through industry knowledge regarding the sourcing and use of alternate materials or suppliers.
- Support implementation of new materials by initiating raw material, packaging and operating supply material number requests.
- Support in creation of new vendor.
- Supports Material Review/Destruction Report process, including MRB (Material Review Board) meetings, issuance and tracking.
- Provide reporting and analytical support to all Materials Department functions (Purchasing, Production Planning and Warehousing).
- Support materials related quality systems, including change control, event, corrective actions.
- Support Material Specification and SOP drafting/revision.
- Prioritize incoming purchased material for Quality Assurance release to support MPS.
- Maintain compliance by performing all training requirements on time for assigned curriculum.
- Follow all applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
- Conduct purchasing activities ethically and in compliance with company policy and stated objectives.
- Conduct planning activities to optimize inventory per site/production plan.
- Support budget setting process and finance related reporting objectives.
- Responsible for timely approval of invoices to support/ensure on time payment.
- Participates in any and all reasonable work activities as assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree required (Advanced degree is a plus).
- Minimum of 5-10 years’ related work experience.
- Experience with other market-leading pharmaceutical, medical device or related healthcare industry experience preferred.
- cGMP experience required.
- Background in the pharmaceutical or device industry preferred, will consider experience in a regulated environment.
- Thorough knowledge of purchasing, materials planning and inventory control principles.
- Experience with supply chain, procurement, direct materials planning, inventory control and warehousing.
- Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills (advanced Excel skills) and other database concepts.
- SAP experience required, knowledge of Procurement and Planning module
