Description

Project Engage Pharmacy Program (PEPP)

The PEPP program at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy is designed for first-generation students, as well as students currently attending minority-serving institutions such as Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs).

The program welcomes those who are pursuing educational interests in pharmacy, other health professions, or biomedical sciences, and who are eager to learn more about pharmacy practice. The program features a three-day summer camp that provides immersive experiences in the field.

 

Program Schedule: Summer 2026

  • Camp Dates: May 17 – May 21, 2026 
    • Check-In: May 17
    • Check-Out: May 21
    • 3-Day PEPP Camp: May 18 – May 20
  • Daily Schedule: Activities from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

 

Application Timeline

  • January 9: Application opens
  • March 1 (11:59 p.m. CT): Priority deadline and beginning of application review
  • March 8 (11:59 p.m. CT): Final deadline
  • April 3: Applicant decision notifications sent

 

Qualifications

Eligibility for PEPP Summer 2026:        

  • Undergraduate college student
  • Currently attending an HBCU or HSI, or a first-generation college student
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75 
  • Interest in the pharmacy, health professions or biomedical sciences
  • Students currently applying or who have previously applied to a Pharm.D. program via PharmCAS are ineligible for the PEPP Camp; however, they are welcome to contact the Admissions Office for advice or guidance at pharmdprospective@pharmacy.utexas.edu

Application Instructions

All application materials must be submitted through this Interfolio application portal by March 8, 2026 at 11:59pm.

Four (4) Required elements of the application:

  1. Current college transcript that indicates most recent cumulative GPA (scanned unofficial copy/screen capture through latest term is adequate)
  2. Essay: Essay should not exceed 500 words.
    • Your statement must address the following: 1) your reason for wanting to participate in the PEPP camp; 2) your interest in pursuing a career in pharmacy, health professions, or biomedical sciences; and 3) what you hope to gain through your participation in this program.
  3. Resume
  4. One (1) Letter of Recommendation from Professor, Supervisor or Mentor who can speak to your potential as an applicant
