We are currently looking for a Fragrance Development Intern at our New York City office. 

 

The FDM Intern plays a key role in the Fine Fragrance creative process by directly supporting the entire FDM team activity and indirectly supporting a number of tangential functions including Perfumers, Marketing,/Commmunications, Sales and Consumer Insights. A highlight of this role is the gathering, tracking, classifying, communicating and distributing of regional market products, new launches and product information to the internal creation teams across the globe. In addition, the FDM Intern provides a variety of admin support to the FDM group for both internal and external needs, giving him/her exposure to and knowledge of a diverse range of clients, projects, platforms, tools and skills.  

 

The 2025 dsm-firmenich Summer Internship Program will begin June 9th, 2025 and run through August 14, 2025

 

Our standard working hours are Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week)

Your key responsibilities

• Manage new fragrance launches and be the key contact for fine fragrance purchasing, researching, tracking and sharing of new launch information, coordinating their olfactive classifications and uploading the new information to internal databases. 
• Be the key local contact for international affiliates with regards to market products, references, sample exchanges, market tests and olfactive tools. 
• Provide technical support for innovation and consumer tools, including sample preparation, bookings and feedback gathering. 
• Support the FDM Team with administrative responsibilities, such as Collection maintenance, pulling fragrances from product room, making samples of new launches, maintaining the fragrance refrigerators, requesting office supplies, preparing materials for olfactive trainings and wearing fragrances for FDMs and perfumers to evaluate. Occasional additional admin support requested for other functions include sampling, expert panel involvement and office merchandising.   
• Provide administrative and secretarial support to the VP FF Development, including team and VP calendar coordination; Utilize various software applications, relational databases, statistical packages and light graphic design to assemble, and format data and/or reports.
