Job Summary:
The Ground Radars & Platforms Center within Systems Integration & Test seeks talented individuals to join our team as Systems Engineering interns supporting Integration, Verification, and Flight & Ground Test for an advanced Missile Defense Radar System.
We integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system interfaces and functions, and verify system requirements in support of final sell-off to our customers.
Every day has a different set of challenges to overcome. In this role you will perform various engineering activities depending on your experience and skill level. Whether in hardware, software, networking, or some combination of all three, you'll be stretched to learn about how our systems work and identify the sources of new and unexpected issues through lots of troubleshooting and data analysis. You will collaborate across disciplines and partner to implement solutions. You will get to know a little bit about every aspect of the system and have a direct hand in making it all work together while supporting teams of engineers engaged in integration and test efforts across the program.
This position is an onsite role in Woburn, MA. This position can be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:
(Undergraduate Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior by start of internship
(Post-Graduate Intern) - must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
- Operate our systems, as well as related simulators/stimulators
- Identify and resolve issues and anomalies through debugging/troubleshooting and data analysis
- Integrate hardware or software into a tactical system and evaluate the functionality and impact of these changes
- Develop documentation, execute plans and procedures, process and analyze data, and communicate results
- Communicate with internal and/or external stakeholders
- Business travel to support program objectives may be required
What You Will Learn
- After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be a part of a team supporting Systems Integration & Test activities across the product development lifecycle.
Qualifications You Must Have
- This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore year by the start of summer 2025
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Exposure to troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, or as part of a hobby
- Exposure to troubleshooting technical issues with software such as C, C++
- Exposure to data analysis using tools such as MATLAB
Qualifications We Prefer
- Prior Engineering Internship working independently or in a team environment
- Experience with data analysis, including the application of scripting or automation using tools such as MATLAB, Python, etc.
- Proficiency with commonly used test equipment, such as Oscilloscopes, Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, etc.
- Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, networks, and communication protocols
