EXPLO Pre-College is looking for summer Support Staff to work at the airport, chaperone trips, and provide support for other program operations.

The Opportunity
Depending on availability, support staff will have the option to sign up for any of the following shifts, with the following responsibilities:
Airport Staff
- On Arrival Days, be a welcoming presence while you meet our arriving students at Boston Logan Airport and get them from their flight's gate to an awaiting bus shuttle bound for Wellesley's campus.
- On departure days, you'd help direct our departing students to the correct gate for their flights home.
- Up to 4 days during the summer are available for airport staffing on Fridays and Sundays, compensated at a rate of $30/hour.
- These are long days and hours are flexible, but prepare for 8-12 hours per day with start times as early as 6am and end times as late as 2:00am, again depending on your availability. Also note that there will be some downtime during the day while waiting for students!
- Travel to and from Logan are your responsibility as well as procuring your meals while on duty.
Trips Staff
- On Trip Days, you’ll be assigned to chaperone an EXPLO trip along with other summer staff. Trips may include everything from tickets to a show or Red Sox game, visiting museums and other attractions around Boston and New England, or outdoor activities. You will be expected to supervise students and follow the guidance of the trip leader to make sure that students are safe throughout the trip.
- Up to 8 days during the summer are available for trip staffing on Saturdays and Sundays, compensated at a rate of $25/hour.
- For trip days, prepare for 6-8 hours per day with start times around 9-10am and end times no later than 5-6pm.
- Travel to and from the trip location or Wellesley College is your responsibility. Depending on the trip, meals may also be provided (this will be communicated to you in advance). EXPLO will cover any ticket or trip expenses required by the trip.
Intersession Staff
- A small group of students will remain at the program between Session 1 (ending on July 14) and Session 2 (beginning on July 16). Hours are flexible for this period, but support staff working this weekend will be assigned to chaperone the students on trips July 14th and 15th, as well as provide coverage on residential hall floors overnight.
- Prepare for longer shifts of up to 12 hours during Intersession weekend. Staff working this weekend will also receive additional training as needed. Hourly compensation will be determined based on which shift you will be covering.
- Travel to and from Wellesley College is your responsibility. EXPLO will provide for any required trip expenses, meals and overnight accommodation (if required).
EXPLO offers summer enrichment programs and runs this summer from June 18th to August 6th, 2023. This role is available at:
- EXPLO Pre-College, for students in grades 10-12 on the campus of Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA.
About You
You’ve got:
- A desire to work with kids this summer
- Flexible availability throughout the summer
Ideally, you’ve also got:
- 2+ years of post-high school experience by the summer
- Some experience with with kids and/or adolescents
Compensation + Benefits
Compensation varies from $25-$35 per hour depending on the shift.
