We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Mechanical Product Engineering organization. This role will focus on ensuring integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement of our mechanical designs and documentation specifically implantable devices and patient-facing instruments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering processes, product lifecycle management, and technical standards, with a passion for improving product quality and reliability.
Our Cardiac Rhythm Management Integrated Operating Unit offers devices and therapies that treat patients with abnormal heart rhythms and heart failure. It is comprised of three key businesses: Cardiac Pacing Therapies, Defibrillation Solutions, and Cardiac Diagnostic Services. Together, we will transform the lives of people with cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure.

Location: Mounds View, MN
A Day in the Life
Remediate requirements, specifications, and mechanical drawings (prints) to ensure compliance with current standards and best practices.
Create and/or update Design Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Manage and maintain Bills of Material (BOM) using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools such as ENOVIA, Windchill, and MAP Agile.
Support the creation, revision, and maintenance of technical documentation to ensure alignment with regulatory and quality requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) and drive improvements for released products in the field.
Leverage CAD tools to support mechanical design updates and reviews as needed.
Apply expertise in IEC 60601 standards to ensure compliance with medical device safety and performance requirements.
Must Have (Minimum Requirements):

Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
OR
Advanced degree with 2 years of relevant experience
Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications):
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in the medical device industry or similarly regulated environment is a plus.
