Temporary US Open - Freezer / Warehouse Associate

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full-time Freezer Associate to work with us through the duration of the 2024 US Open in Flushing Meadows, Queens. We are seeking an organized and motivated individual to lead our inventory management and product delivery on site at the 2024 US Open Tennis Tournament. This individual must have open availability to work early mornings throughout the week and weekend. Schedule is 5:00 am - 9:00 am with days ranging. 

Job Description

• Responsible for maintaining a safe and organized work environment
• Responsible for receiving and properly storing shipments of ice cream into a frozen storage container.
• Able to accurately and efficiently select and stage materials for delivery while working inside a frozen storage container
• Deliver and properly store goods and materials to the different service locations located at the US Open property.
• Work with the retail team to ensure the needed goods and materials in a timely manner
•  and organization of dry goods within the warehouse/freezer.   
• Storage freezers are kept at -20 degrees and a portion of your day will be spent packing orders, and organizing stock inside of these freezers.
• Maintain a clean, efficient, and safe work space and facility.
• Heavy lifting as well as long periods of standing will be required. Able to operate a pallet jack.
• Follow company protocols and safety rules.
• Effectively communicate with other team members and management.
• Maintain and count inventory as needed and instructed.

Job Requirements

• Previous Warehouse experience required. Will train the right candidate.
• Previous experience with electric pallet jack and or forktrucks
• Availability to work 5 am to 9 am
• Ability to effectively work well as part of a team and autonomously; great organization.
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
• Exceptionally high standards for cleanliness.

The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held.
