About the role

Responsibilities

Surface Maintenance and Engineering Planning Program (SURFMEPP) provides centralized surface ship life cycle maintenance engineering, and class maintenance planning and management.  SURFMEPP’s primary mission is to maintain and modernize in-service ships throughout the ship’s expected service life focusing on a complete, well-engineered, and continuously improving Class Maintenance Plan (CMP). 

 

SURFMEPP’s Modernization Analysts are subject matter experts on surface ship modernization and integration, working with TYCOM, Program Office and Maintenance Teams to support Surface Fleet platforms.

Modernization Analyst responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Providing analysis and recommendations to facilitate ship specific modernization planning and execution.
  • Conducting availability integration and modernization analysis to identify modernization that may risk avails exceeding scheduled completion date.
  • Identifying repair, corrosion and tank work that may be affected by a Mod task.
  • Managing Mandatory Safety Alterations for assigned ship class(es) by generating WN’s and tracking them to completion.
  • Assisting in program reviews, conferences and working groups for naval programs.

Required Qualifications

 • Bachelors degree in a related filed. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors. •  10 to 15 years of relevant professional experience •  DOD SECRET Security Clearance •  Demonstrated engineering experience as Naval Officer or Senior Enlisted (Chief, Senior Chief or Master Chief); OR Prior experience as Port Engineer or Project Manager for subject ship class. •  Navy Maintenance execution through shipyard experiences such as being on a hull during a Depot Level (CNO Avail) and OFRP.

Desired Qualifications

 •  Demonstrated maintenance planning experience with Combatant or Amphibious surface ship classes. •  Use of Navy Databases •  Drafting and delivering technical presentations •  Appropriate written and verbal communication skills to interact with U.S. Navy personnel •  Navy Modernization process experience related to surface ships.

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.
