Responsibilities
Peraton is actively seeking a dynamic and skilled National Security Memorandum (NSM) Technical Writer to become a valuable member of our Cyber Mission business unit based in Jessup, MD. Joining our team means being an integral part of one of the largest enterprise-wide Engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community.
In this engaging full-time position, encompassing 1880 hours of annual support, you will immerse yourself in the stimulating world of cybersecurity at the customer site. As an NSM Technical Writer on our accomplished team, you play a pivotal role in fortifying the nation's Cybersecurity of Federal Information Systems.
You will: #
- Champion the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of critical customer issuances such as Operational Directives, Memos, Congressional Notifications, Emergency Directives, and various technical documents.
- Skillfully facilitate the document review/revision process, ensuring seamless reconciliation of comments. Document and maintain a comprehensive comments matrix, expertly noting resolutions.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), authors, and the customer team to adjudicate comments effectively.
- Efficiently coordinate and track the Staff Processing Form (SPF) process, working closely with Action Officers to secure timely signatures.
- Showcase your exceptional writing and editing skills by crafting compelling technical documentation for all office issuances.
- Generate clear and concise how-to documentation and job aids to enhance customer processes and procedures.
- Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for customer processes, including SSOR, process flow documentation, and format publications. Collaborate closely with SMEs and other available resources to create impactful technical drawings.

Qualifications
Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:
- Six (6) years of experience as a Technical Writer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional TW experience (at least 10 total years) may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Experience documenting systems, and systems of systems in accordance with systems engineering standards and practices.
- Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:
- A basic understanding of customer compliance rules and policies would be ideal but selected individual will be provided formal customer compliance policy training upon assignment to the task.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.Apply for this role
