Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process development and manufacturing implementation of new Dry Etch (Ion mill, RIE, Ash) processes and technologies for magnetic recording head wafer manufacturing in a clean room environment.
- Responsible for process sustaining, improvement, and production line support.
- Document processes and procedures, train and certify technicians/operators, and conduct audit periodically.
- Troublesshoot line issues. Conduct defect analysis, root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve yield, cycle time and cost.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects with set milestone and timeline.
- Present project plan and summary and execute it under minimal supervision.
- Work with development, integration, and other modules to transfer/implement new products/processes/tooling/methodology into production.
Qualifications
- PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering field. 3+ years of professional experience is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of vacuum process, equipment, metrologies, and thin film dry etch fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience in vacuum process development in a clean room environment.
- Experience with DOE, SPC, APC, and JMP/JSL is preferred.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills and the ability to find correlations and patterns among large amount of available data. Be able to make decisions and execute them on a timely manner.
- Be able to work with cross-function teams and people from different background and from other departments and organizations. Strong quality mindset and the ability to accepting different opinions.
