In this position...
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of vehicle regulatory excellence. In this position, you will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers to ensure full compliance with aerodynamic regulations and policies. Beyond maintaining current standards, you will also be a key contributor to the continuous advancement and future development of our roadload model and automation tools, where your contributions will directly influence the development of next-generation vehicle programs and ensure our continued leadership in environmental compliance.
What you'll do...
- Work closely with product engineering and VEV to establish the test processes and vehicle set up conditions consistent with regulatory expectations
- Co-chair the governance process as related to program aerodynamic assumptions
- Participating in the early program target setting process and technology assumptions to ensure proper regulatory aerodynamic policies are followed
- Lead development and efficiency improvements with IT systems used for Roadload Calculation
- Key interface, with product engineering and GDIA, on model development to ensure they will accurately predict the on-track performance
- Support the correlation of the physical performance of the vehicles to the models
- Participate in the interface with regulatory authorities (EPA, CARB)
- Support senior management reviews
You'll have...
- Engineering Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Four years of professional experience in a directly comparable role.
- Understanding of the statistical modeling processes used to model aerodynamic performance and the correlation to physical testing

- Strong technical and oral communication skills including development of management presentations
- Exceptional analytical and computer skills including excel macro and programming knowledge, and ability to navigate complex databases
- Leadership skills to ensure alignment between various areas on complex technical projects
- Deep technical knowledge of the aerodynamic discipline including testing processes related to automotive vehicle development
- Understanding of advanced vehicle technology used to improve the aerodynamic performance of the vehicles and ability to validate actual performance
- Able to handle multiple tasks and understand priorities
- Ability to interact effectively with senior management and other organizations including EPA
- Self-starter, ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to develop and implement efficiency workstreams within new and existing tools
