Koniag Professional Services, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Speech Writer with a Secret Security clearance to support KPS and our government customer at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA.

The Speech Writer will serve as a trusted advisor and wordsmith for senior leaders, responsible for developing high-quality communications materials that effectively convey strategic messages to diverse audiences. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Strategic Communications Development:
• Develop and prepare speeches, presentations, and written articles for the AAE, PMILDEP, PDEP, and other senior officials
• Support the Chief of Staff and Strategic and External Communications offices with communications requirements
• Craft compelling narratives that align with organizational priorities and resonate with target audiences
• Translate complex technical and policy concepts into clear, accessible messaging
Writing and Content Creation:
• Prepare speeches for various occasions including conferences, ceremonies, congressional testimony, town halls, and media events
• Develop presentations utilizing PowerPoint and other visual communication tools
• Write articles for various media platforms including internal publications, trade journals, and web content
• Ensure all materials maintain consistent tone, style, and messaging aligned with organizational brand
Leadership Support and Advisory:
• Understand both horizontal and vertical management chains to provide informed recommendations to Principals
• Adapt writing styles to accommodate Principal changes and individual communication preferences
• Anticipate communications needs and proactively develop materials supporting leadership priorities
• Serve as a strategic communications advisor on messaging, positioning, and audience engagement
Collaboration and Coordination:
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather technical information and ensure accuracy
• Coordinate with Strategic and External Communications staff to align messaging across channels
• Work with graphic designers and other creative professionals to enhance visual presentation of materials
• Manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines across various leadership offices
Quality Assurance and Review:
• Conduct thorough research to ensure accuracy and credibility of all communications products
• Review and edit materials for grammar, style, clarity, and consistency
• Incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders while maintaining message integrity
• Ensure compliance with DoD and organizational communication policies and protocols
Education and Experience:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Political Science, or related field from an accredited college or university
• Minimum 5-8 years of professional experience in speechwriting, strategic communications, or related field
• Demonstrated experience writing for senior executives or government officials
• United States Citizenship
Clearance Requirement:
• Active Secret security clearance
