About this opportunity:
Cenovus is looking for an Operations Area Superintendent for the Superior, Wisconsin refinery. Reporting to the West Complex Manager, this individual will oversee the safe and reliable operations of assigned areas, with a focus on equipment reliability within the FCCU/Alky unit. As the Subject Matter Expert for this unit, the role involves leading within Operations at the Superior Refinery and collaborating effectively with colleagues, leveraging strong technical expertise.

What you’ll do:
- Contribute and align to Cenovus Energy safety culture and standards.
- Responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and optimum operations of the assigned areas.
- Health, Safety and Environmental compliance management.
- Budget management.
- Maintain housekeeping standards/assignments.
- Develop, improve and maintain area operating procedures; identify barriers to process improvement and develop strategy for improvement.
- Develop and maintain paper & electronic unit and equipment logs and critical level checks.
- Communicate operating plan/strategy to shift organization through night orders.
- Coordinate/manage unit turnaround planning and execution efforts.
Who you are:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years of refinery operations experience
- Technical expertise of applicable area
Preferred:
- FCC Unit and Alky Unit experience preferred
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Capable of working successfully with all levels of the organization
- Committed to working safely
