Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or the equivalent
• math and measurement knowledge
• volume and weight knowledge
• knowledge of Publix and Printing Services job and code numbering systems
• high degree of mechanical skills
• high degree of diagnostic, performance, and problem solving skills and experience
• ability to use various specialized tools, including: micrometer, Zahn cups, and torque wrenches
• physical abilities, including: the lifting of up to 70 pounds, extended walking/standing (up to 14 hours/day), bending, squatting, working in a prone position in close confinement (during some troubleshooting and when performing some maintenance)
• written and verbal communication skills
• interpersonal and teamwork skills
• adaptability and versatility (change) skills
• willingness and the ability to work variable work schedules (sometimes with short notice) when and as required by the work load, which may include weekend and/or holiday hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate of Science in graphic arts/printing
• Two years of operating the feeder end of a sheet-fed offset printing press
• Graphics arts college and/or trade school certification(s)
• specific R706 LV printing press knowledge
• knowledge of general Publix and Printing Services’ policies and procedures
• general printing knowledge
• knowledge of chain-of-custody (CoC) processes and procedures
• general understanding of the parts and function of the ink transfer system
• general understanding of the parts and function of a continuous-flow dampening system
• general understanding of the characteristics of various printing substrates
• general understanding of the parts and function of the aqueous coating system
• general understanding of offset printing method
• general understanding of the parts and function of the delivery/drying system
• general understanding of quality control methodologies
• understanding of the offset plate making process
• Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Shop Floor Data Collection knowledge
